Bryant White eighth grade boys hold off repeated Blue charges for victory

The unbeaten Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School jumped out to a 11-2 lead and, though they battled back to tie and repeatedly whittled on the lead, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School could never grab the lead. The White team held on for a 37-30 win at the Bethel gym, handing Blue its first loss of the season after a 6-0 start.

Mitch Scoggins led all scorers with 15 points for White, now 5-0. Chase Christie scored 13 and collected 15 rebounds to pace Blue.

Bryant Blue seventh grade team overpowers Bryant White

John Winn scored 19 points to lead the Bryant Blue Hornets seventh grade team of Bethel Middle School to a 48-5 win over the Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School at the Bethel gym on Tuesday.

Blue ran out to a 26-1 lead to take control of the game. Winn scored the first 9 points of the game for his team. His first bucket came inside. He then followed with a steal and layup that turned into a three-point play. Brandon Warner made a steal and Winn hit the offensive glass to make it 7-0.

Clutch play at the end lifts Bryant Blue Hornets to Anthony School Classic crown

LITTLE ROCK — A night after thumping the Arkansas Baptist Eagles, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School had to prove it again in a rematch for the championship game of The Anthony School Classic.

And it proved tougher the second time around.

But thanks to some clutch play from Davis Nossaman and Bryce Denker in the final minute of the game, the Hornets extracted a 43-40 victory to capture the Classic championship.

Bryant Blue eighth grade, seventh grade boys each notch victories

LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team from Bethel Middle School improved to 2-0 on the season with a 35-28 win over Little Rock Episcopal in the first round of The Anthony School Invitational Tournament on Monday night.

In addition, the Bryant Blue seventh grade team earned a victory at Morrilton, 30-13.

Christie's clutch free throw lifts Bryant Blue eighth grade to first victory

CABOT — Chase Christie hit a free throw with 5.8 seconds left to play to provide the winning margin for the Bryant Blue Hornets of Bethel Middle School in their season opener Thursday.

The Hornets defeated Cabot South’s eighth grade boys, 36-35.

Bryant Blue extracts 12-6 win amid storm at Lake Hamilton

PEARCY — While the freshman team and Bryant White were waiting out a storm that eventually led to the postponement of their games at Cabot, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team went to Lake Hamilton and won 12-6.

The game, played in a driving rain, marked the first time in four years that the Bryant Bethel team has beaten Lake Hamilton, according to head coach Donaven Sims.
