Barracudas devour Piranhas in dual meet

The Bryant Barracudas have won three events in a row. They traveled to Cabot and beat the Cabot Piranhas Summer Team 685 to 502 on Saturday, June 27. That tally includes the girls winning 324 to 295 and the boys 361 to 207. Their previous wins were at home against the Maumelle Marlins and on the road against the Lonoke SharkRockets.

Hayden StewartOutstanding performers for the day include Kelsie Vaughn, a 14 year old, who won her division of the 50-yard Freestyle, the Gold Division of the Backstroke, swam in the 100-yard Freestyle relay, and won the Gold division of the 50-yard Breastroke.

John Dellorto, an 8 year old, won the Gold Division of the 25-yard Freestyle. He also captured the crown in his division of the Backstroke, came in second in the Gold Division of the Breaststoke, and won the Gold division of the Butterfly.

Hayden Stewart, a 15 year old swimming in the 15-18 bracket, won his division of the Backstroke and Breastroke while swimming the third leg of the second place finish on the 100-yard Freestyle Relay team.[more]

In the Breaststroke, the Barracudas’ first place finishers were Andrew Lorio, 7-8 Gold Division; Olivia Chambers, 6-under Gold Division; Jillian Colclasure, 6-under Bronze Division; Trip Denton, 9-10 Silver Division; Garrett Sullivan, 11-12 Gold Division; Allie Anderson, 9-10 Bronze Division; Mary Katherine Dawson, 11-12 Silver Division; Grant Ross, 13-14 Bronze Division; Hayden Stewart, 15-18 Bronze Division; Kelsie Vaughn, 13-14 Gold Division; Lauren Woods, 13-14 Bronze Division; and Justine Tazelaar, 15-18 Silver division.

The Barracudas host the Lakewood Waves at Longhills Golf Club next Saturday morning. It is their last week before the Meet of Champions on July 18.
