The Bryant Barracudas hit the water Saturday for their first meet of the year. The meet was held at Longhills in Benton with the Barracudas hosting the Sherwood Sharks. While the sheer volume of the Sharks scored more points than the Barracudas, it was a day of personal bests and first-time swimmers having a great time.

Some examples of fine swimming can be found in Devin Hester in the age 12 female division. She placed eighth in the freestyle, third in the breast stoke – gold division, second in the silver division of butterfly and fourth in the 100 meter individual medley. Devin set a personal best in the freestyle stroke.[more]

Dillon Quintus in the boys 9-10 division placed eighth in the freestyle, third in the breast stroke silver division, third in the silver division of the butterfly, and second in the 100 IM. Dillon beat his times three of the four events.

Mary Katherine and Zach Dawson – a brother and sister one-two punch had a great first meet also. Mary Katherine set personal bests in the freestyle, breast stoke and IM – placing second in each of those events. All three events she swam in the 11-12 year old silver division.

Zach placed first in the 11-12 year old boys’ freestyle gold division, first in the breast stroke silver division, third in the silver division of the butterfly and first in the 100 IM silver division.
