Barracudas win three-team meet at Cabot

CABOT — The Barracudas swim ream won their second straight meet of the season[more] on Saturday, June 18, when they battled the Cabot Piranhas and the Lonoke Shark Rockets. The final team scores were Barracudas 612, Piranhas 412, Shark Rockets 28.

The youngest swimmers on the team continue to improve. The Barracudas won every event in the Girls 6-and-under age division. Anna Brown shaved time in the girls 25 yard freestyle, earning her a top 10 ranking in the Central Arkansas Swim League (CASL).

Jacob and Seth Eubanks rocked the pool in the Boys 9-10 and 7-8 age groups. The brothers won every race they entered in Cabot. Seth’s breaststroke race earned him top rank in CASL.

Mason Nelson had another spectacular day in the boys 11-12 age group. He shaved 6.69 seconds off his butterfly time, earned a team record and landed at the top of the CASL ranks in both butterfly and backstroke.

Jessica Butler won high points for the team and found herself ranked in the top five of CASL girls 11-12 for backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley (IM).

Garrett Sullivan continued to shave time in the pool, beating his own butterfly team record and earning top five rankings within CASL for all strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and IM.

Emily Dabbs earned top CASL rankings in butterfly and IM with two beautiful swims at the Cabot meet.

The Barracudas host their second home meet on Saturday, June 25, against the Sherwood Sharks. This meet will be the very first swim meet the Barracudas have hosted at the new Bishop Aquatic Center. Swimming begins at 8 a.m.
