BHS cadet honored by Daughters of 1812

At the ninth annual Bryant High School Air Force JROTC awards ceremony, banquet and military ball held at the Little Rock Air Force Base, the Baseline-Meridian Chapter, United States Daughters of 1812 (U.S.D. 1812), presented the U.S.D. 1812 JROTC medal and certificate to Cadet Lt. Col. Sarah Powell, graduating senior at Bryant High School.

Powell plans to study at Ohio State University in order to become an equine veterinarian.

U.S.D. 1812 criteria for bestowing the award to a junior or senior in an JROTC program is one who has demonstrated qualities of academic excellence, leadership, military discipline, dependability, patriotism and upright character in speech and habits, which exemplify the ideals upon which our nation was founded.
