LITTLE ROCK — In the championship game of the Anthony School tournament, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School absorbed their first loss of the season 44-36 to the Joe T. Robinson Junior Senators.
“It was a tough back-and-forth game,” said Hornets coach Dominic Lincoln. “We ran out of gase in the end, left a lot of points at the free-throw line.”
The Hornets missed 16 free throws.
“And we had too many turnovers,” Lincoln added.
Randy Thomas led Bethel with 16 points and eight rebounds. Tyler O’Neal added 11 points and six boards.
Bryant Blue, now 2-1, is set to return to action at the Wildcat Shootout at Little Rock Episcopal on Dec. 1.
