Bryant Middle School teams capture victories over LR Henderson

The Bryant White Hornets of Bryant Middle School won seventh and eighth grade games against their respective counterparts from Little Rock Henderson on Tuesday night.

In the eighth grade game, the Hornets improved to 7-0 on the season, Ahmad Adams scored four touchdowns, two on offense, one on defense and one on special teams as the Hornets rolled to a 40-0 lead by halftime on the way to the victory by the same score.

Adams ran the ball just twice and scored on a 98-yard touchdown run then, later, a 42-yard scoring bolt. He added a 67-yard punt return for a TD then intercepted a pass and returned it 49 yards for another.

Hudson Trusty blocked a punt along the way, which Catrell Wallace recovered at the Henderson Hawks’ 6. On the next play, quarterback Derrick Rose ran it in for the touchdown. He added a run for a two-point conversion as well.

Rose also threw for a score, hitting Arlon Jenkins on a 5-yard TD toss. Rose ran in the conversion again.

The team will try to complete an unbeaten season when they close out at home against Conway White on Thursday, Oct. 29.

In the seventh grade game, the Hornets closed out the season with a 24-6 win. Myles Aldridge had two touchdown runs with a two-point conversion run. Aiden Adams completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Conner Coleman to provide another highlight. Austin Ledbetter caught passes on a pair of two-point conversions.
