Bryant players earn honors for play at Babe Ruth World Series

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The Westchester, Calif., All-Star team, which ousted the Bryant All-Stars on Friday, 8-3, in the semifinals, went on to win the 2013 Babe Ruth World Series championship for 14-year-olds on Saturday with an 8-0 win over Tualatin Hills, Ore.

After the game, tournament honors were announced and several Bryant players were noted including the batting champion of the World Series, Garrett Misenheimer, who hit a scorching .727 over Bryant’s six games.

Along with Logan Allen and Alex Shurtleff, Misenheimer was named to the All World Series team.

In addition, Gold Glove awards were presented to Bryant’s Dylan Hurt and Austin Kelly.

Bryant, which won State and Regional championships to get to the World Series, was the only team from the 13-year-old World Series to return this year. Bryant won it all as 13’s and finished third in the nation as 14’s.
