Bryant residents involved in Christmas production at Agape Church

LITTLE ROCK — Eight residents of Bryant will be among the 100 cast and crew members involved in an adaption of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” entitled “The Gospel According to Scrooge” a musical theater production at Agape Church, 701 Napa Valley Dr., Dec. 11-13.

Directed by Stephen and Sherri Brack of Bryant, the presentation brings to life the familiar Dickens’ story but adds a spiritual confrontation to the life of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Churches join forces for food drive, community service

Six area churches will join forces to collect canned food for the Arkansas Food Bank. Donations will be accepted at Brand New Church on Reynolds Road all day Saturday, Oct. 10. Geyer Springs Baptist, Indian Springs Baptist, Brand New Church, First Southern Baptist of Bryant, The Revolution Church, and MidTowne Church are sponsoring the food drive.

The food drive is just a part of what these churches hope to be a great community service event that will be called “Outlit.” It lasts two days (Friday and Saturday) and is for Middle School and High School students 6-12 grade.

Avilla Christian Academy to host Halloween carnival

Zion Lutheran Church and Avilla Christian Academy will be hosting a Fall Fest Carnival on Sunday, Oct. 31.

The event will start at 5 p.m., with a meal of hot dogs, Frito chili pie, chili, cookies and more. The meal will be served until 6:30 and will cost $3 for adults and $1.50 for children 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Avilla Christian Academy (ACA) office or from members of F.O.C.u S. (Friends of Christian Schools). Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of the carnival.

Church news: Silver Rose to arrive at Our Lady of Fatima Church

BENTON — Everyone is invited to a prayer service that will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Benton to mark the arrival of the Silver Rose on its 28-state trek as part of the Running of the Rose.
