Best wishes and a big thanks to Lana Clifton for contributing news coverage to BryantDaily.com over the last few months.

Lana and her family are moving to Texas for a job opportunity that her husband has accepted.

She’s been a big help and a great addition to the site.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRYANTDAILY.COM!

by Rob on Feb 3, 2010 at 3:11 AM

Yes! That's right. It's been one year since we launched Bryantdaily.com!

How time flies when your havin' fun doing what you love to do!

We deeply appreciate our advertisers who have been so loyal and supportive especially while we were "fresh out of the box" just one year ago! Much thanks to those who have contributed pictures, articles and prayers for our success, but mostly, we want to thank all of our visitors who have made our site grow and grow each month!

In fact, not only are we getting Google's attention (just Google us to see all the links) but we have had a whopping quarter-of-a-million page views this first year!

Thanks!

We look forward to a great 2010 as we have begun exploring all the ways we can truly be your source for all things Bryant!

Sincerely,

Rob Patrick

Hornets games will be aired on the radio

by Rob on Aug 19, 2009 at 4:21 PM
Filed in Football | Rob Blog

Bryant Hornets football games will once again be on the radio this fall.

Though it was a close call, Dr. Jim Lagrone announced that just enough sponsors have been found to cover the cost of the airtime on the American Family Radio affiliates KANX 91.1 FM and KBDO 91.7 FM. He noted that there is still advertising time available on the broadcasts for those that are interested in sponsoring. Contact him at jimlagrone@netzero.com.

Hornets on radio

by Rob on Aug 6, 2009 at 5:15 PM
It's getting down to the deadline and Dr. Jim Lagrone reports that a few more sponsors are needed if the Bryant Hornets football games are going to be broadcast on the radio this fall. Funds from the sponsorships go to pay for the radio air time and, at this point, the commitments fall short of what is needed.
Anyone interested in helping out, can contact Lagrone at jimlagrone@netzero.com.

Note

by Rob on Aug 6, 2009 at 2:37 AM

Dear friends of BryantDaily.com,

I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks! Every month, the visits to our site have increased but, in July, we made a big jump that’s very encouraging and, hopefully, appealing to advertisers.

In June, we had 14,775 unique views (pretty much what people term “hits”) and 19,271 page views. In July, the number of unique views bumped up to 23,254 and page views to 30,655.

Reminder

Dear BryantDaily readers,

Since the launch of this site, 550 articles have been posted and all of them are still available for you to read. To access them, use the index on the left and, at the bottom of each page of stories, there's a link to the previous articles. You'll find them in the reverse order in which they were posted.

Particularly in this busy month, there are times when several articles are posted in succession and a story may not stay on the front page of the site for very long. Be sure to check previous posts to make sure you haven't missed anything.

And, thanks for your continued support.

Last month, we had over 19,000 page views. Our impressions since the site was launched the first of February have surpassed 170,000.

Please continue to encourage local businesses to support the site with their advertising. During July, a three-month contract will include an additional month free.

For more information, call me at 501-920-6893, 350-7898 or 847-0850 or Mike Patrick at 501-650-2257. Or email us at rob@bryantdaily.com or mike@bryantdaily.com

Thanks,

Rob Patrick

'Dad? Wanna have a catch?'

Father's Day 2006: From right, Bob Patrick, sons Mike and Jon, and grandson Ben.

By Robert Patrick Jr.

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone that knows me that I’m one of those guys that gets choked up at the end of Field of Dreams. Ray Kinsella gets one more chance to play catch with his dad.

Though it may not include the added poignancy of Ray’s estrangement from his dad up to John’s death, anyone that has ever played catch with their dad can relate to that simple joy.

I’m getting dewy just thinking about it.

Such a sap!

Some of the fondest memories of my life involved throwing the ball around with my dad, whether it was a baseball or a football.
