The Bryant School District adopted a new seal Tuesday, Aug. 3 at a special meeting of the Board of Education. The meeting was called specifically to vote on adopting the new District seal that was being proposed. Jessica Bollen, Communications Director of the District, has been working on producing a new seal for several months now.

“This has been one of my favorite projects thus far and I'm thrilled with the results,” she said.

The District seal was designed to brand the District so that when anyone sees the seal, they will know that Bryant School District is being represented. Branding is how the District plans to communicate their identity with continuity and consistency.

Bryant Middle School teacher, Melissa Landreth, took a walk on the moon this June when she attended U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala.

The trip was provided by Honeywell Educators. In 2004, Honeywell partnered with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to begin the Space Academy program. This program was designed to provide teachers with the resources and experience they needed to take math and science to a new level in the classroom. Through real life Astronaut training, teachers are able to use supplemental activities that make learning more productive in the areas of math and science.

Change continues to develop on Bryant High School campus

By Lana Clifton

Change is coming to the Bryant High School campus. In fact, the changes began during the last school year. Students changed where they parked and some classes were moved. The changes are needed to ready the campus for construction of a new high school building and enhancements to existing buildings.

Over the summer, the Bryant School Board has received updates from the architects and construction crews so they can approve different aspects of the project. Partly due to the time involved in reviewing all the information involved and partly due to a desire to keep the project moving, the board has held work sessions to make some of the decisions necessary rather than wait for regular monthly meetings. On July 6, the board met for such a work session and approved several work packages to move the project forward.
