The Bryant Rotary Club has moved. The club now meets at Luigi’s Pizza and Pasta, 22000 Interstate 30, Bryant each Thursday at 11:45 a.m. Most Rotarians join Rotary Club to help improve the quality of life in their communities and to make a difference in the world.

The distinctive sepia toned paper offers interesting stories, trivia, quotes, and local events, available at no charge in their countertop stands at businesses in these communities and others in the area.

Publisher Stephen Kincaid currently resides in Benton with his wife and children. His children attend Bryant schools where Stephen graduated in 1990. They love the small town life and enjoy being a part of the Saline County community. Stephen Kincaid is responsible for recruitment and placement of the Coffee News at over 60 locations in the area every week.

Saline Memorial hosts 5K run/walk for Cardiac Assistance fund

BENTON — In an effort to encourage Saline County residents to join the fight against heart disease, Saline Memorial Hospital (SMH) is hosting the second annual “The Beat Goes On” 5K Walk Run on Feb. 27, 2010. Proceeds from the event will go to the "Cardiac Assistance" fund established by the Saline Memorial Health Foundation.

The 2009 race had over 400 participants and they’re hoping to increase numbers this February.

More medicare recipients my qualify for Extra Help

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — A new Medicare law that became effective January 1 makes it easier to qualify for Extra Help, a program that helps Medicare beneficiaries with limited income and resources pay prescription drug costs, including premiums, deductibles and prescription co-payments. Savings through this program can be worth up to $3,900 per year.

Bryant's Cassil joins CareLink board

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Carol Cassil of Bryant is a new member of the CareLink board of directors. She is executive director of public relations for the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care.

CareLink is a private, nonprofit agency serving older people and their families in Faulkner, Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie, Pulaski and Saline counties.

Enrollment up at Pulaski Tech

NORTH LITTLE ROCK— Pulaski Technical College recorded a 13.8 percent increase in enrollment for the spring 2010 semester over this time last year, marking a record number of students for the state’s largest two-year college.

Pulaski Tech had 11,163 students enrolled in college-credit classes as of Tuesday, Jan. 26, the 11th day of class for the spring semester. All enrollment numbers are preliminary as of the end of the 11th day of classes, the official day on which reports are based, and subject to further verification before submission to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
