Dash For A Difference to benefit Rotary’s Kid Closet (repost)

Ready…set…GO! The Dash For A Difference 5K run is in the registration process and[more] right on schedule.

“The support we have received for this event so far has been incredible. We are really looking forward to a wonderful, high energy, exciting event,” said Jessica Bollen, Director of Communication for Bryant Public Schools.

The race will take place on Saturday, April 30, at the Bryant Middle School. It will start in the parking lot between the cafeteria and Hornets Stadium. Check in will begin at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9. All ages, strollers and wheelchairs are welcome with 100 percent of the registration fee going to benefit the Bryant Rotary Kid’s Closet.

“Thanks to Carson Physical Therapy and our other wonderful sponsors, the race expenses are completely covered so 100 percent of everyone’s entry fees will go directly to the Kid’s Closet to help make a difference in the lives of children right here in our own area that are in need,” Bollen said.

The Kid’s Closet was founded in November 2008 with funding from a Rotary District Simplified Grant. It benefits the Bryant and surrounding areas by providing shoes, clothing, school supplies and basic hygiene products to children in need, ages 6-16. These items are sent out on the request of school counselors, teachers, social workers, church officials, or the local Boys and Girls Club Administrator. No screenings of any sort are necessary.

“By improving quality of life, the closet can make an immediate difference in the lives of children that are neglected, have suffered loss of a home, or who’s parents simply cannot afford to provide for them,” Bollen said.
