Fast start, strong finish not quite enough for Bryant Blue girls against Cabot North

The Cabot North Lady Panthers eighth grade team overcame an early 8-2 deficit to rally past[more] the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets, 27-25, at Bethel Middle School Tuesday night.

By halftime, the Lady Panthers had surged to a 13-12 lead and they held a 21-16 advantage going into the third quarter.

The Lady Hornets put together their own comeback only to fall just short at the end.

“We didn’t shot the ball very well but we gave ourselves a chance to win at the end with aggressive defense,” noted Lady Hornets coach Rhonda Hall.

Kendal Rogers paced the scoring for Bryant Blue with 12 points. Sarah Kennedy added 4 and Reagan McCormick 3. Riley Hill, Bethany Hutchison and Kasey Ward each finished with 2.

The Lady Hornets wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule on Monday, Dec. 17, when they host Bryant Blue of Bethel Middle School. The seventh grade girls game will begin the night of roundball at the Bryant Middle School gym at 4:15 p.m.
