Filing complete, only two council seats will be unopposed

As of Wednesday, the day after the official cutoff date for filing, the Saline County Clerk's office reports that there are 16 filings for city alderman positions in Bryant.[more]

In Ward 1, Position 1, Scott Curtis, the current alderman, is running unopposed.

In Ward 1, Position 2, alderman Danny Steele will be running against challenger Alan Kays.

Since alderman Ed Collins has decided to give up his seat in Ward 2, Position 1, Brian Ruby, Jim Garland and Mike Chandler are vying for the spot. Collins has filed to run against alderman Chris Tipton for Ward 2, Position 2.

Ward 3, Position 1 alderman Adrian Henley will have Judy Hogue and Phyllis Rogers as opponents in the upcoming election and vacated Ward 3, Position 2 seat will be contended for by Bobby Johnson and Rob Roedel.

Ward 4, Position 1 alderman Brenda Miller is to be challenged by Sam O'Bryant.

Steve Gladden, the current alderman for Ward 4, Position 2, will be unopposed, as well.

City Clerk Brenda Cockerham will have Heather Kizer running against her for the position and Mayor Larry Mitchell is being opposed by Jill Dabbs.
