“We thought it was important that our girls, who are at the center of everything we do, saw first-hand Girl Scout history,” said Board of Directors Member Linnie Lyle who is overseeing the oral history project.

According to Lyle, girls will begin interviewing Girl Scout alumni in October and will continue until September of 2011. From there, the council will compile the interviews into one document and make available for viewing during the anniversary year.

The council is currently seeking former Girl Scout alumni to be interviewed on camera for the project. Interested alumni are asked to contact Council Director Communications Director Kendall Thornton at 800-632-6894 or to visit the council’s website at www.girlscoutsdiamonds.org to print, complete and mail in an interest form to the council.
