‘Golfing for the Hornets’ planned

The Bryant Athletic Association will host "Golfing For the Hornets", the first Kirk Bock Charity Golf Tournament at Hurricane Golf & Country Club on Thursday, July 9.

Check-in at 11 a.m., will include box lunches provided by the Club. A shotgun start for the four-person scramble will commence at 1 p.m. There will be an on-course par 3 contest with a cash payout and a putting contest. Mulligans will also be available at check-in and throughout the course. Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin on designated par 3's, donated by Golf Headquarters.

At 6 p.m. or immediately following the tournament, there will be a "Baseball Memorabilia" silent and live auction plus dinner courtesy of Gabe's Grill.

Golf is $400 per team and includes lunch, admission to the silent and live auction. Admission to the auction without golf is $25. Mulligans are $40 per team, limit of eight.

Hole sponsors are also sought for $100 and up.

Proceeds from the auction and the tournament go for Bryant High School baseball and local youth programs.
