“I believe my skills and leadership will be an extraordinary asset for the City of Bryant,” he said. “I expect several other candidates to step forward in the coming weeks, but I sincerely believe I am uniquely qualified to serve as the Bryant City Attorney.”

Farmer has spent the majority of his career representing large corporations in complex legal matters.

“I think city governments and corporations have very similar goals and objectives from a legal standpoint,” he stated. “First, we have to manage and minimize our risks to the best of our ability. Second, we have to proactively work to achieve growth and serve our customers or citizens as best as we can.”

When asked why he wants to serve in this role, Farmer said, “It took decades for Bryant to build momentum of growth from an exit sign on the interstate to a bustling community. We are now growing at speeds we could not have believed many years ago.

“Bryant has an amazing school system with a strong athletic program that other communities around the nation would envy,” he continued. “New businesses and restaurants are planting themselves here and thriving. I have benefitted tremendously from being a part of this growing city, and I want to reinvest myself to continue building a strong foundation for long-term growth and community success into the future.”

Farmer received a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University, an M.B.A. from Henderson State University, and his law Degree from UALR Law School. Since graduating law school, his practice has focused primarily on representing large publicly held companies in a variety of legal matters. He is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

He is married to Dr. Sarah Farmer, a pediatric dentist in Bryant, and they recently welcomed home a newborn baby girl, Lucy.

“We are all eager to make Bryant the best home it can be for us and our neighbors and friends,” said Josh Farmer.

In his spare time, he helps out with a local community center and follows the successes of Bryant sports teams. He also enjoys hanging out with his family, running and riding his bike around Saline County, playing golf at Hurricane Creek, cooking on his back deck, watching football and working on projects with his dad.

“Although I am still a fairly young man, I know that I am fully capable of successfully fulfilling this role and serving Bryant far beyond expectations,” he said. “I hope that my candidacy signals the interest and involvement of a new generation of leaders for Bryant.”
