League-leading Russellville downs Lady Hornets

RUSSELLVILLE — The Bryant Lady Hornets challenged one of the best teams in the state on its home floor Thursday night.

“We ran into a cyclone last night,” said Bryant coach Lawrence Jefferson after the team’s game against the Russellville Lady Cylones. “We played well at times but just could not answer their big hitters.”

The Lady Hornets absorbed a 17-25, 18-25, 13-25 setback.

Bryant was coming off a crucial 7A-Central Conference win at home against Van Buren on Tuesday. Next is a trip to Conway for the annual Lady Wampus Cat Invitational Tournament on Saturday.
