The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade volleyball team of Bethel Middle School eased to a 2-0 win at Cabot South on Thursday, 25-17, 25-10.

The team includes Anna Blair, Julie Brazil, Nikki Clay, Brianna Davis, Haley Dellis, Mercedes Dillard, Katelyn Giffin, Sydney Gogus, Emily Henson, Devin Hester, Jamie Jamison, Madison Jones, Camille Langley, Mackenzie McEntire, Rachel Phillips , Rylee Phillips and Allysa Sturgeon.

“Our team had several girls that were able to serve for multiple points,” reported coach Melissa Bragg.

Gogus had eight good serves in the first game and Sturgeon contributed seven good serves in the second. Phillips, Jamison and Clay each had five good serves.

“I am starting to see more consistency from the girls when they serve,” Bragg said. “Serving is something we struggled with against Benton.”

The Lady Hornets are 2-1 on the season, with the lone loss coming against Benton in their opener. Their next outing will be on Thursday, Sept. 9, against Bryant White at Bryant Middle School.
