A strong second half enabled the Cabot North Panthers seventh grade team to rally for a 25-24 win over the Bryant Blue Hornets of Bethel Middle School on Tuesday night.
The Bryant Blue team includes Logan Allen, Gunnar Burks, Blake Carnahan, Drew Carnahan, Drew Castleberry, Daniel Darbonne, Tanner Ezell, Alex Falco, Nic Feeko, Lawson Fincher, Jordan Gentry, Nic Hardin, Devin Howard, Aaron Orender, Jacob Pipken, Grayson Ruple and Ethan Southard.
The Hornets, now 5-2, held a 4-3 edge after a quarter then put together a big second period to build a 17-9 advantage. But Cabot North rallied within 19-18 by the end of the third quarter and it was battle down the stretch.
Gentry led Bryant Blue with 11 points. Howard added 6 with Allen and Ezell cashing in 3 apiece. Burks hit a free throw.
Bryant Blue[more] takes on Bryant White in its next outing at the Bryant Middle School gym on Monday, Dec. 13.
