Terry paces field; Majors, White team finish first at intrasquad

Charlie Terry, who earned all-State honors as a sophomore last year for the Bryant Hornets cross country team, burned up the cross country course at Bishop Park on Tuesday to the tune of 10:34 to take individual honors at the intrasquad meet that annually starts off the season.

Bryant opens the regular season on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Arkansas Army National Guard Invitational meet at Western Hills Park in Little Rock.

Ben Majors was a close second at 10:39 with John Carder third at 10:50 and Connor Wilson fourth in 11:02. With Mark Winn turning in an 11:06, it gave the White team three of the top five finishers. As a result, it took top team honors with a low score of 113. Terry and the Blue team were second at 153 with Wilson and the Black squad finishing with a total of 206.

Jhorman Cruz, who was sixth overall, paced the junior high runners with a time of 11:07 for the Blue team. Michael Higgs (White) was seventh in 11:22 with Eric Stewart (Blue) eighth in 11:26, Dawson Oakley (White) ninth at 11:28 and Peyton Reber (Black) 10th in 11:29.
