EDITOR’S NOTE: Because the look back at each day in Bryant athletic history has been so favorably received during the time when there was no sports during the COVID-19 shutdown, will continueposting past stories of Bryant athletics either posted on (from 2009 to the present) or published in the Bryant Times (from 1998 to 2008).

The Bryant High School golf team got its season started with tournaments in Jonesboro on Tuesday and at Conway on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, senior Peyton Weaver shot a 77 to earn medalist honors at the Jonesboro tourney. The Lady Hornets finished second overall.

For the boys, Drew Castleberry fired a round of 74 to tie for second overall individually. The Hornets were third as a team.

At Conway, Weaver cared a 76 to again take individual honors as the Lady Hornets finished second in a nine-team field.

Chase Thornton paced the Hornets with a round of 77. The team finished fourth.

Both teams are scheduled to play at North Hills Country Club in Sherwood on Friday.
