Annual ‘Women Can Run’ clinic starts registration soon

The Women Run Arkansas Run/Walk Club will host the 17th annual free “Women Can Run” walking and running clinic beginning March 4, 2014 and continuing through May 10.

The clinic, open to ladies of all ages and abilities, will be held twice a week for 10 weeks. Members of the Women Run Arkansas Run/Walk Club, local running clubs and former clinic participants will be leading the program, which will conclude with Women Can Run 5K graduation event in Conway on May 10, which will be attended by participants from similar clinics from around the state.

The fee for the 5K is $25, which will include a t-shirt and goodie bag.

There are training programs for any level of walker of runner. Handouts and instructions will be supplied free of charge.

The Saline County clinic will meet at the Benton High School track on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., the Bryant High School track on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., at various locations starting March 4. Clinic orientation will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m., in the multi-purpose room at Bryant High School.

Those interested may pre-register online at www.womenrunarkansas.net or at Bryant High School at Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Registration will also be accepted for those who can’t make it the first night.
