BHS students to present “Bye Bye Birdie”

Bryant High School will present, what has been billed as "one of the most
captivating musical[more] shows of our time," Bye Bye Birdie, a satire done with the
fondest affection, and tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be
inducted into the army. The story was inspired by the phenomenon of popular
singer Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957.

Bye Bye Birdie won four Tony Awards for Musical, Director, Choreography and
Supporting or Featured Actor. The production requires large instrumentation,
provided by Bryant students. 

Show dates for students are April 8, 10, 11, 12 at 10 a.m. The public is invited to
attend on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m., in Love Auditorium. Cost for admission is $5 per
person.

The production is under the direction of Rachel Arrington, Bryant High School
drama teacher. Cast leads include Suzanne Atwell as Kim; Levi Brady as Conrad
Birdie; Austin Wadley as Albert Peterson; and, Ashley Park as Rosie.
