The round-robin event will begin with the Lady Hornets taking on the Camden Fairview Lady Cardinals at 4 p.m., followed by the Hornets facing former 7A-Central Conference rival Little Rock Catholic at 5:30 p.m.

Boys and girls teams from Maumelle and CAC are also competing in the tourney. Bryant’s teams will play their respective counterparts from Maumelle on Friday and the CAC teams on Saturday.

Championships of the tourney will be decided by number of wins. If two teams are tied, head-to-head results will be determinate. The two teams remaining will go to head-to-head results.

The Lady Hornets enter the action with a 2-1 record after a 35-34 win over Mount St. Mary Academy on Nov. 20. They’ve defeated Vilonia and lost a close game at North Little Rock. The Lady Cardinals are 1-1 on the season and coming off a loss at El Dorado, a team that is now in the same conference with Bryant.

The Hornets bring a 2-0 record into the game with wins over Vilonia and Fort Smith Southside. But the night of their win over the Rebels, two of the Bryant players, senior Skylar McKissock and junior Caleb Strain, were involved in a horrific auto accident. Both suffered numerous serious injuries. McKissock was treated and released but is still recovering from his injuries. Strain is still in the hospital recovering from major injuries, which have required surgery.

A fund has been set up for Strain to help defray the costs of his medical expenses at First Security Bank in Bryant. Donations came be mailed to First Security Bank, c/o Caleb Strain, 1823 No. Reynolds Road, Bryant, AR 72022.
