LITTLE ROCK — Dezera Duckworth pumped in 22 points and gathered four rebounds to lead the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School to a 39-25 win over Arkansas Baptist in the first round of The Anthony School Tournament on Monday, Nov. 16.
The Lady Hornets will take on Little Rock Episcopal tonight at 8 in the second round of the tournament.[more]
Rori Whittaker added six points and collected a team-high five rebounds. Ashley Caton contributed 4 points, Keedy Harrison 3, Jessica Alliston and Erica Smith 2 apiece. Andrew Buford pulled down three rebounds. Smith and Kaci Mann collected two each.
In addition, the Blue seventh grade A and B teams got into action at Morrilton. The A team lost 25-7 with Isabella Bluemmel leading the team with 4 points. Jamie Jamison added 2 and Katelyn Giffin 1.
The B team fell 10-3 with Julie Brazil scoring 2 points and AnnaMarie Blair 1.
The seventh graders will be back in action tonight as well with the B team starting at 5 p.m., followed by the A game. They host Cabot South.
