Bryant White got on the board on a free throw by Keith Jones but another stickback by Winn got Blue going again. Brushawn Hunter hit the offensive glass to add a basket then Winn fed Brandon Warner for a bucket.

When Warner scored on an inbounds play, the lead was 15-1. Another steal led to a three-point play by Winn. At the other end, he blocked a shot by White’s Connor Tatum. With 1:09 left, his drive to the hoop made it 20-1 and that was the score going into the second quarter.

Mark Winn’s basket and a pair of buckets by Jason Hastings, who finished with 9 points, stretched the margin to 26-1 before Tatum hit a free throw for White.

It was 29-2 before J.C. Newburn produced the first field goal for White with 1:11 left in the half.

“The win gave us a 4-0 record,” noted Blue coach Derek McGrew. “I was very pleased with how we started the game. We jumped on them early and we were able to continue the momentum through the first quarter.“I was pleased with our transition offense and unselfishness in sharing the ball,” he added. “I hope we continue to improve. This team has a lot of potential.

White coach Heath Long commented, “I liked that our guys went out and played hard no matter the score. Bethel has a great team in seventh grade, and we are going to work as hard as we possibly can to catch up with them.”

Warner finished with 6 points for Blue. Hunter had 5, Mark Winn 4, Blaine Knight and Andrew Kincaid 2 each and Clark Garland 1.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Blue travels to Cabot North while White hosts Cabot South.
