Bryant Hornet Engineering to host robotics competition Saturday

Bryant Hornet Engineering will host the only regional VEX Robotics competition held in Arkansas before the state competition, which takes place on March 1. Robots will take over the gym at Bryant Middle School on Saturday, Feb. 8, as engineering teams from 18 Arkansas schools, including Bryant High School, will compete.

The competition features students, with guidance from their teachers, building the most innovative robots possible and working together to obtain the most points possible. In addition to just having a great time and building amazing robots, through their participation in the VEX Robotics Competition and their work within their team, students learn many academic and life skills.

Last year, Bryant Hornet Engineering was the first Arkansas team to compete at the World VEX Championship Competition in California.

There is no admission fee for the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Bryant Middle School Gym. Matches will be from 9:45 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
