Bryant White eighth grade boys top Sheridan in “best game by far.”

SHERIDAN — The Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School improved to 6-0 on the season on Saturday with a 34-20 win over Sheridan.

Head coach Heath Long said, “We played our best game by far. Our kids did an outstanding job on the defensive end of the floor. We also had nine different players score.”[more]

Those scorers were led by Mitch Scoggins and Caleb Strain who each had 7 points. Jordan Jones and Gray Orman added 4 each.

“We have been doing a much better job lately of being patient and working the ball offensively,” Long added. “It really showed today with our balanced scoring.”

The Hornets held the Stingers scoreless in the first quarter and limited them to just 4 in the first half as they built a 16-4 advantage. It was 25-14 going into the fourth quarter.

The Hornets host Cabot South on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
