The Bryant White Lady Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School made quick work of the Lady Wolves of Lighthouse Charter School of Jacksonville Tuesday night at the BMS gym. Eleven different players contributed the scoring in a 53-9 win, which improved Bryant White to 5-2 on the season.
“Our starters only played approximately three minutes, so our bench really stepped up big for us,” said Lady Hornets coach Kenny Hays. “The girls did a great job of finding the open person in our offense and playing unselfishly.
“We also played solid half-court defense, which helped us have many fast-break opportunities,” he added.
Jasmine Daniels led the scoring with 15 points. Lizeth Hernandez finished with 9 and Octavia Brister 8. Raven Loveless pitched in with 5 with Gabby Bonvillain finishing with 4, Jaclyn Greenwood 3. Carlie Hutchins, Maddie Miller, Maddie Stephens and Paige Adams scored 2 each with Jalen Sparks hitting a free throw.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Monday, Jan. 13, at home against Malvern.
