Chamber’s annual Winter Banquet and Silent Auction set for Jan. 28

The 43rd annual Winter Banquet and Silent Auction, sponsored by Landers of Saline County, will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28 at the Center at Bishop Park.

“The event is a showcase of the stars in the community along with a special announcement,” said Rae Ann Fields, Executive Director of the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited to welcome this year Ken Goodman, emcee, who will interject humor and entertainment throughout the evening,” said event chair Megan Caldwell. “The Winter Banquet is a special night where the Chamber has an opportunity to recognize individuals and businesses for their outstanding service to our community. Our goal is to make every nominee and attendee feel like a star that night as they enter on the red carpet and enjoy the awards ceremony.”

Five Community Commitment Award winners will be recognized for their outstanding service to the community. The Chamber will give a Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year and Organization of the Year award. The awards sponsors include First Security Bank, Southwest Design and Landers of Saline County. Community Commitment Award recipients were nominated by Chamber members and others in the community.

“We had almost 50 nominees,” said Fields. “We are excited to have that many nominated. That speaks volumes about how many committed, wonderful people and companies we have here.”

The Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet is the largest gathering of professional and business people in the Bryant area of the year. The committee expects a crowd of more than 400 people at the Center at Bishop Park.

“We are excited to hold our banquet at this great facility and we are equally as excited about some of the great silent auction items that have been donated,” noted Fields.

Platinum and Silver donors have given items of $500 or more and $100 or more, respectively.

“The silent auction is a fundraiser for the Chamber, but it also functions as a way for attention to be drawn to a business,” noted Caldwell.

The silent auction will provide a forum for local businesses and organizations to showcase their services, goods or products.

“Certainly anyone in the community may contribute to the silent auction and anyone in the community may attend the Winter Banquet,” noted Fields. “It will be an evening of great food from Bistro Catering and Take Away and a way to meet others in your community.”

The menu is: garlic pita bread, mixed green salad, Chicken Florentine, herbed mashed potatoes, pork loin, seasonal grilled vegetables, and cheesecake.

Tickets are $40 per individual or $300 for the table if a table of eight is reserved.

Reservations may be made by calling 847-4702, emailing to raeann@bryantchamber.com or by responding to the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce email invite.
