City to mark American Heart Month with ‘Go Red’ program on Tuesday

To increase awareness of heart disease and its effects, the City of Bryant is participating in American Heart Month, marking the work of the American Heart Association. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the City will “Go Red.” City employees and elected officials invite all residents to join in showing support to those families that heart disease affects by wearing red.

Residents are invited to take pictures of their “Go Red” day and share it on social media with the hashtag #BryantGoesRed. Pictures will be shared, along with pictures from the city offices throughout the day on the City of Bryant Facebook page.

Mayor Jill Dabbs will read an official proclamation during the February City Council Meeting that night.

“We can all make healthy changes to lower our risk of developing heart disease,” she commented. “Taking a healthier approach to diet, not smoking, controlling our cholesterol and blood pressure and maintaining an active lifestyle are small changes that can make a big impact on our quality of life.”
