Class 7A State football playoff possibilities

Going into the final week of the regular season, very little is determined regarding the seedings for the Class 7A State playoffs, though the teams have almost all been determined.

The Bryant Hornets and Conway Wampus Cats will battle for the No. 1 seed, a first-round bye and a Central conference championship this Friday at Hornets Stadium. Little Rock Catholic and Van Buren will play each other to determine the third seed from the Central.

Likewise, in the East, North Little Rock and Little Rock Central will battle for a top seed, a first-round bye and a league title. Cabot is the only team that’s set for the playoffs as the No. 3 seed from the East.

In the West, there are four teams tied for first place going into the final weekend. They are Fayetteville, Bentonville, Fort Smith Northside and Fort Smith Southside. Fayetteville and Bentonville play this Friday while Northside and Southside battle. Springdale Har-Ber and Rogers Heritage will be the fifth and sixth seeds depending on the results of their crosstown rival games, Har-Ber with Springdale and Heritage with Rogers.
