Former Hornets still playing in college

Jake Jackson caught seven passes for 101 yards including a 68-yard touchdown reception in the Rhodes College Lynx’ 47-16 win over Haskell Indian Nations University of Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday. The former Bryant Hornets star accounted for 161 yards of total offense in the game as the Lynx improved to 2-0 on the season.In the team’s opening win over Westminster College, 26-14, Jackson caught four passes for 53 yards.

Logan Cruise, a redshirt freshman from Bryant, has played in all three games for Southeastern Oklahoma, getting in on two tackles.[more]

Ouachita Baptist University boasts four former Hornets on its roster, including senior offensive lineman David Hollis. True freshmen Dijon Benton and Chris Brooks have joined redshirt freshman Taylor Masters on the squad.

Hollis started one of the games for the Tigers, Benton has played in both of the team’s games so far and Masters got into a game. Benton’s been in on six tackles in the two contests.Former Bryant foes Eli Cranor of Russellville and Josh Langley of Benton are quarterbacking for the Tigers.

Travis Cockerham is kicking for the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys and has gone 4-for-4 on field goals with the longest coming from 37 yards. He’s also 12-of-12 on extra points. He handles kickoff and punting chores for ATU as well, averaging 29 yards a punt with a long of 48 yards. He’s also been in on a tackle this season.He leads the team in scoring with 24 points.

    Jordan Knight is playing football for a Church of Christ school in Texas (cannot remember the name) and Jarred Szabad is at Southern Nazarene University.
