BENTON — Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is replacing its[more] current Benton location on South East Street with a 30,000 square foot facility less than two miles away on Military Road. Goodwill will hire approximately 30 additional employees for the new location.
The agency will host a hiring fair at the new location, 1716 Military Road, on Friday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. to fill available positions including various management positions, retail sales associates and donation attendants.
"Providing employment has always been a vital part of Goodwill's mission," says Brian Itzkowitz, Goodwill's President and CEO. "We're pleased that despite a struggling economy and high unemployment rates, Goodwill can continue to offer employment opportunities in our community.
"We're looking for employees that can provide an amazing customer experience to our shoppers and donors," says Itzkowitz. "Our ideal employee believes in Goodwill's mission, has a strong work ethic and a friendly, helpful demeanor; and has the skills to work in a constantly changing environment."
The event is open to the public. Applicants for all positions are advised to bring a recent resume or work history information, references, and any other materials necessary to display their qualifications. Applicants should be prepared to fill out a paper job application and speak with an interviewer for approximately 20 minutes. Job offers will be made at the event, contingent upon background check and other verifications.
Construction to transform the former Big Lots space will finish soon and the store will officially open its doors on March 3 with a grand opening celebration. The new store will be more than three times the size of the existing store, and offer a drive through donation center, and job search and placement assistance at the Goodwill Job Center.
