Hurricane Creek Elementary School entry earns top prize among Christmas Parade floats

You might say the Grinch stole Christmas in Bryant. Or, at least he snuck away with the first place prize for floats of $150 for Hurricane Creek Elementary School, which put together a Grinch-themed float.

Second place winners,[more] Mini Dreams Miniatures, rode off with the $100 second place win. The float in the entry was flanked by miniature horses pulling carts decked out with Christmas jingle bells.

The Sassy Hornets Softball Team won third place of $50 with their snowflake themed float complete with a snowman wearing a Bryant Hornet t-shirt and “softball” snowballs trailing the ground behind the trailer.

“We saw some great creativity in our floats this year,” noted Chairperson Lori Lemons.

Another highlight of the parade was the Scimitar Shrine cars, motorcycles and antique fire truck. “The Shrine always adds an element of fun and we appreciate their participation,” Lemons said.
