This Friday's Salt Bowl game will mark the 40th meeting in the Saline County rivalry between the Bryant Hornets and the Benton Panthers since they began playing in 1974 (they played twice in 2005). It'll be the 13th time the two teams have played for the Salt Bowl trophy.

I was at the "Saltwater" Bowl in ’08. Even with a rainsuit, the rain "wicked" up my pant legs almost to my knees. The rain would come from one direction then come from another direction causing you to keep shifting in your seat so the sheets of rain wouldn’t hit you in the face.
