Logan Hayes Parker

Logan Hayes Parker, age 21, of Bryant, departed this world on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. He was born on May 21, 1990 to Jim Mack and Robin Parker, also of Bryant.

Logan fought for life from his first moments on earth. Born with a serious heart condition, he survived a several hour surgery at just two days old. Growing up in a football family, he watched is older brother Lance play the game. Sideline observations were just not enough for Logan. His fierce determination to overcome his health obstacles led him to play quarterback for Bryant High School. In 2007, he and his teammates won the 7A Conference Championship with Logan receiving All-State honors.

Logan not only fought for life, he loved life. “Parker,” as his friends called him, had an infectious personality. His happiest moments were when he was laughing, dancing, and entertaining his family and friends. His love for his family was evident in every part of his life, from lunches with Mom, caring for Granddaddy, to playing with his niece Ella, Logan thrived on his family’s love.

His last year was spent working with his mother at Wilson, Angstrom, Corum, and Coulter Law Firm. His wit, humor, and genuine charm touched people of all ages in his very short time on this earth. The memories of his life will forever be cherished by all who loved him.

Survivors include his parents, Jim Mack and Robin Parker, of Bryant; brother and sister-in-law, Lance and Kelli Parker of Olive Branch, Miss.; niece Ella Parker, also of Olive Branch, Miss.; paternal grandparents, Jim and Betty Parker, of Benton; aunts and uncles, Vicki Wallace of Hot Springs, Herman and Cindy Yoos, of Columbia, S.C., Kenneth and Linda Jones of Hampton, Nancy Nowlin of Minden, La., Gary Nowlin of Bedford, Texas, and Terry Nowlin of El Dorado. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Logan was preceded in his death by his maternal grandparents, Dorthy and Herman Hayes Nowin of Hampton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, at First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Passmore, Dexter Barksdale, Jake Jackson, Logan Cruse, Jared Szabad, Raylen Cantrell, Jasmine Carter, Taylor Masters, and Trent Daniel.

Visitation will be from 6–8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).

    To the Parker Family;I am so sorry for the lost of your beloved one. I’ve found so much comfort in the Scriptures. In Rev 21:3,4 tells that God will take all pain and death. We have the hope of seeing our love ones resurrected.
