Razorbacks for Reading charity basketball game set of April 14

Bryant High School seniors Jordan Griffin, Brantley Cozart, Logan Trudell and Callie Hogancamp will join[more] other players from Saline County schools as part of a benefit basketball game sponsored by the Leadership Saline County Alumni group. The Saline County high school all-stars will take on former University of Arkansas athletes in a benefit for the Razorbacks for Reading program. The game is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Benton Arena.

Local dance teams and gymnastic teams are also slated to perform throughout the night.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students at the door. All proceeds benefit Saline County Imagination Library.

Country singer Dolly Parton established the charity in Tennessee with the mission to provide children under 6-years-old with books monthly. There is a program in at least one community in all 50 states. Saline County recently adopted the program and is in the early stages of raising money to fund it.

The Saline County Imagination Library has raised more than $20,000 on its way to a goal of $30,000 and is now serving children on a limited basis.

Leadership Saline County is a development program that is working to cultivate leadership by energizing and educating existing and emerging leaders in the community. By further developing the leaders in the community the hope is to improve the life of every resident through increased social and economic opportunities making Saline County the best possible place to live and work.
