School Board exploring options

By Jamie Miller

With the people of Bryant recently voting against a millage increase for new construction throughout the Bryant School district, the Board is now examining alternate routes. The district will receive a certified letter from the Arkansas Department of Education Facilities Division requesting a meeting with the Superintendent and the Board President. This will allow the district to discuss its plans to match the facilities divisions approved and funded projects.

The ADE Facilities Division will also share information regarding the different options that are available to the district to meet the suitability and adequacy that is required of school districts across the state. Until the entire process is complete, the District will hold off on any future budgetary plans.

Three Bethel Middle School students were recognized for receiving the Patriot’s Pen Essay awards sponsored by the local VFW. Kayla Ausburn, Joe Smith and Haylee Scott all received this honor.
