School District-wide service project will raise funds for Red Cross work in Haiti

Area residents are invited to participate in the Bryant School District’s first district-wide community service project, “Hornets Hike for Haiti” to be held Saturday, May 15.

The event will be a 5k fun run/walk with a one-mile event for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Funds from the event will go to support the American Red Cross efforts to help the post-earthquake recovery in Haiti.[more]

The 5k will begin at 8 a.m. with the kids’ mile run/walk starting at 9 a.m., in the parking lot at Hornets Stadium.

Fees are $10 per child (K-5), $15 per student (6-12) and $20 per adult. Prizes will be awarded for top finishers in each age/gender division and the school with the most participants. Prizes will also be awarded for spirit and creativity among teams.

Registration forms and race information are available at www.bryantschools.org. T-shirts guaranteed for everyone registered by May 1.
