The Bryant Sport Shop Black Sox take on Hot Springs Lakeside in the winners’ bracket final Friday at 5:30 p.m., as the 2015 AA American Legion State Tournament resumes in Sheridan.
The tournament started July 24-26 and 14 teams have been whittled down to six. In the losers’s bracket on Friday, Sheridan will take on Malvern while Harrison plays River Valley. The winners of those two games will be another elimination contest on Friday night against each other. The survivor will take on the loser of the Bryant-Lakeside game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., for the opportunity to play the Bryant-Lakeside winner for the tournament championship at 5 p.m.
The Sox, 18-10 on the season, reached the winners’ bracket final by beating Morrilton 6-3, dismissing North Little Rock 11-1 then whipping Harrison 11-1.
Lakeside advanced past Crossett 7-5, topped River Valley 3-1, then edged Sheridan 9-7.
