Bethel seventh-grade girls win meet

CONWAY — The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets seventh grade track team of Bethel Middle School won a meet at Conway on Monday, March 31, accumulating 104 points including first-place finishes in five events.

Bryant won all three relay races and picked up individual wins from Madison Humbard in the 100-meter hurdles (18.54) and the 1600-meter run (6:18).

In the 100 hurdles, Ashlyn Thompson finished second at Humbard’s heels, turning in an 18:84.

In the 3200-meter relay, Megan Lee, Jasmin Martinez, Isabella Jacuzzi and Humbard combined on a winning time of 11:55. It was Lee, Cassie Ray, Jacuzzi and Katie Clifton in the 400 relay, finishing in 56.83. The quartet of Lee, Brynn Castleberry, Jacuzzi and Humbard ran a 4:59 to win the 1600 meter relay, capping off the team victory.

Clifton turned in a second-place finish in the 200 and a fourth in the 100 (14.5). Malori Pendergass was second in the 800 (2:57) with Bailey Brazil fourth (3:00).

Thompson added a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles, turning in a 58.98.

In the 400, Castleberry was fourth (1:11) and Rachel Studdard seventh (1:15).

Grace Ouellette picked up points in two field events. She was fifth with a long jump of 12’8” and seventh in the triple jump at 24’11”.
