BHS seniors awarded A-State scholarship

The ASU Honors Prize Patrol surprised five seniors and their families on Wednesday, Dec. 12 with[more] prestigious scholarship awards. The scholarship recipients,
Shelby Gartrell, Ross Grant, Skyler McKissock, Elizabeth Morris and Kelsey Rivers, named ASTATE Scholars, the top scholarship awarded at Arkansas State University to incoming freshmen.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have an ACT composite score of 30 or higher and a 3.5 or higher GPA. Prospective students who qualify are also required to submit a student resume and two recommendation letters as part of the application process.

As the top scholarship at ASU, the ASTATE Scholar Award provides $56,000 to each student over four academic years. ASU names approximately 40 ASTATE Scholars each academic year.
