The A and B boys squads from Bethel Middle School each absorbed losses on Tuesday at the[more] hands of the Wampus Kittens from Carl Stuard Middle School in Conway.
In the A game, Bryant Blue led 9-8 after a quarter but fell victim to a Conway burst in the second period, falling behind 22-12 by halftime. The Hornets put together their own surge in the third quarter and trailed just 26-22 going into the final period. Conway prevailed, however, 38-24.
Calvin Allen finished with 9 points for Bethel. Desmond Duckworth had 6, Caylin Allen 4 with Hunter Handley and Chase Kincaid pitching in with 2 each. Josh Bonner hit a free throw.
In the B game, Conway won 22-10. For Bryant Blue, Derrick Blake had 6 points, Caleb Dorsey 2 and Blake Pennington and Kade Endl 1 apiece.
The Bethel seventh grade team will play next in a tournament at Bauxite on Saturday.
