Bryant players, spirit team members, coaches set for annual High School All-Star games

FAYETTEVILLE — Two baseball players, a soccer player, two cheer squad members, two dance team members and four coaches will[more] represent Bryant High School at the 56th annual Arkansas High School Coaches Association all-star festivities this week on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Tyler Brown and Landon Pickett will compete for the East team in the baseball game at Baum Stadium this evening. A doubleheader begins at 5 p.m.

Reed Evans will play for the East in the soccer contest at Razorback Field on Tuesday, June 21. The girls game is at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at 8.

The East cheer squad, with Bryant’s Karen Scarlett serving as an assistant coach to Stuttgart’s Meghan Ables, will include Bryant’s Kelly Cruse and Hollie Harryman. On the East dance squad, Bryant’s Erica Reeves and Mariah Maddox. The team is coached by Nettleton’s Dana Gibson with Bryant’s Laura Wooten serving as one of her assistants.

In addition, Bryant head baseball coach Kirk Bock will be assisting East head coach Clay McCammon of Searcy. And head coach of the Bryant volleyball team, Beth Solomon, will be assisting East head coach Vickie Gatewood of Nettleton.

The All-Star softball game will be this evening at 5 at Bogle Park. The basketball games are set for Wednesday with the girls game starting at 6, followed by the boys contest around 8.

The volleyball game is Tuesday at Barnhill Arena, starting at 7 p.m., with the football game capping off the week at Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Thursday with kickoff at 7 p.m.

The games are held in conjunction with the annual AHSCA coaching clinic.
