CONWAY — Blaise Smith poured in 16 points to lead the Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School to a 30-18 win over Conway Blue on Tuesday night.
It was the season opener for the Hornets who play again on Monday against Little Rock Horace Mann.
Patrick Dickinson added 6 points, Jessie Windemaker and Kajuan Robinson finished with 4 apiece.
“We did a pretty good job defensively,” commented Hornets coach Heath Long. “We held them to only five baskets for the game.”
Bryant White built a 10-4 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 17-9 advantage at the half. It was 24-15 going into the fourth quarter.
“For the first real game, we did a pretty good job of executing our offense and getting the ball inside,” Long noted. “Hopefully, we can built on this and show further improvement on Monday night.”
