Bryant wins first JV game

RUSSELLVILLE — Evan Lee drove in four runs and Trey Breeding knocked in three as the Bryant Hornets won a junior varsity game over the Van Buren Pointers, 9-3, on Thursday night at Arkansas Tech University.

Devin Dupree and Jason Hastings worked on the mound for the Hornets with Dupree picking up the win with three innings of work. Hastings got the final six outs of the contest, five on strikes.

Lee and Breeding each had two hits. Both of Breeding’s were doubles. Lee singled and tripled. Harrison Dale added two hits and C.J. Phillips singled and drove in a pair. Jake East and Logan Allen contributed hits as well.

The game was the first JV action this season. Another JV game is scheduled on Saturday after the varsity contest between the Hornets and the North Little Rock Charging Wildcats at Burns Park.
