Bryant’s Jackson named co-captain for Rhodes football team

Former Bryant Hornets receiver Jake Jackson has been named as[more] co-captain of the Rhodes College Lynx football team for the 2011 season.

New Head Coach Dan Gritti, who also named wideout Buddy Legens as a co-captain, said, “I cannot think of two better student-athletes to lead our team in this new era. Jake and Buddy represent all that is great about Rhodes and our football program.”

The Lynx open the 2011 season on Sept. 10, against arch-rival Washington University in St. Louis.

Jackson, who will be a senior this season, caught 24 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns last season. He was also the team’s leading kick returner with 26 returns for an average of 20.5 yards.

For his career, Jackson has had 78 receptions for 1,155 yards and six TDs.
